Contador to Garmin?

The scut­tle­butt in Spain today is that Tour de France leader, Alberto Con­ta­dor, is in nego­ti­a­tions to ride for the Amer­i­can team of Garmin-​​Slipstream next year. Garmin chief Jonathan Vaugh­ters would not con­firm rumors his team was hop­ing to hire the Tour de France leader. Con­ta­dor is also linked with a pos­si­ble new Span­ish cycling team to be set-​​up by his coun­try­man two-​​time For­mula One cham­pion Fer­nando Alonso with the sup­port of his Renault F1 team.
